Above the gold

The legacy I leave behind is something I think about every day. Truly I always ponder how I want my life to be looked at after its all said and done. For one, I want it to be looked at, I want to be remembered, I feel as if it is my mission to not be forgotten. Whether my success comes in this industry or that industry, I want to be able to leave enough influence on people that my ability to lead will follow from a few, to millions, maybe even billions of people. Influence, after all, is much more than material objects.

To expand on that, I want to lead people out of a greed filled world. I believe that a few people rallied to a cause you can create can make a difference in a community, but it takes millions to influence a world. I want to leave the gifts of near perfection in our lives. I do realize that happiness can only be achieved if sadness is present in our world, and that also good can only emerge when evil is overcame. Without any bad there is no good. I feel that anything is achievable with the right amount of influence. If Adolf Hitler can convince a nation that the Jewish people deserve to be killed, to endure a genocide of millions, than anybody can believe anything. Not saying I want to corrupt people, but I want them to be rallied to a cause of knowledge. I feel that if people can be rallied to a go with the flow lifestyle, then our culture will forever change for the good.

I simply believe that if I can climb a mountain to a peak so high that all can see me, they will be able to hear me. I want it to be known as a peacemaker, but with the swagger of a leader. I want people to realize that my words are ones of realization. People don't always look through the tunnel to the light even when its right in front of them. Perhaps something along the lines of motivational speaking would be in my future, but its something I want to do. I love talking about the potential of masses of people, what we could do as a large group. Its a beautiful thing. Overall, there is one thing I do believe in that I find possible and true. The way it goes is that although you can never end things like racism, death, sadness, so many horrible things in the world, you can bring an end to war. There is NO driving force that causes humans to go to war.

My Tomb

My life has been remembered
on this tombstone here
from my happiness and tempers
and when things weren't clear
a leader forever in my heart
to those who could not fight
these people I'd never part
only for that which was right
peace intended from the start

My accomplishments are a result of my actions
and my resolve a result of my passions

Though a mortal I am
and forever i cannot be
For my love i peace I ask
that you forever remember me

This is my tomb
here is where I lie
through life til doom
I have always tried
to live with meaning
and die with love
perhaps by leading
we can reach the sky above

Gratitude in the workplace

Although I work in a pizzaria, there is still some gratitude in the workplace. People would argue it's an easy job, and for the most part they would be right. However, when it comes to other customers dining experience, perfection is all that is acceptable. My gratitude and the gratitude of my coworkers really goes out to everybody who just pays attention.

People don't always realize that certain efforts really do go into such a simple job. Often times people can be neglected when on a wait for seating. Other times food can be poorly prepared. Items can be forgotten in an order and overall, with all of these things customers can be unsatisfied. Every person that works with me simply asks that I do my job correctly in which for the most part I do. I simply ask for the same and in turn I am grateful for that.

If not for a smooth work day, I am very grateful for the people I work with. Everybody is young, happy, funny, and energetic. Everyone has a good attitude it makes work worth going to. My managers make for a flexible experience that's mostly stress free and for that I am also grateful. Everybody in this organization is for the most part you scratch my back I scratch yours sort of person. Everyone is always looking to help you out if you need it, they are a second family and for that I'm grateful.

My demeanor is unmovable
with no mistake it's provable
that my sophistication
is amazing
It's undoable

Leadership is my game
Its the claim to fame
something that I just do
its what makes me me
it's just who I be
its part of me
and likely not for you

Perfectionist
living specialist
of winning?
the best at it
with more to come
Without exception
I'm accepting it
the rest of it?
Ask the receptionist
for the file of
The most passionate
immaculate pacifist
like Malcom x
and mlk I'm
a progressionist
And yes thats made up
Like this creative list
of things that make me
who I am
perhaps an egotistic
beast or a dream within a man.

Stories

Story 1:
Everything would be perfect. The countless hours in the gym, studying, getting where I want never seemed so easy. My perfect future would necessarily begin with myself being noticed at a university for potential in either of the two sports I love so much; Basketball and Football. I get a big break with tuition and don't really have to worry about it, and with that, get to quit my job. Skipping through to a professional career, I would have it all in terms of talent. Rookie of the year and MVP? Unheard of. With that maybe even a ring. The greats are established after their careers are over, but it wouldn't be hard to see what all the fuss is about when it came to me. Hard work would really shine through my ability. All of the accolades in the world would be filled in my trophy room and with them the many championships I would win. Money just wouldn't be a problem for me. Id have a kid or two, maybe a son, I feel like a daughter would be a bad match for me. All in all the cars, houses and endorsements would just be a comparison to the feeling I would have when I stepped on the field.

Story 2:
Perhaps instead of my plan A, things get a little wound up. I meet with a university coach and during the meeting, things get a little off. He gets a call and has to leave the office for a second and I'm left alone. Things are different. I notice something off to the side of his desk, a safe, cracked open. I get nosy and peek a little, well maybe more than a little. Hes got tons of stolen diamonds in the safe of all sizes and cuts. Thats my big break. Forget a potential career in the league, this is millions on millions, maybe billions in diamonds. I grab em and put them into my bag, and peek out of the office. I see the coach walking slowly back on his cell through a long hallway, maybe 50 yards away. I figure the only way out is the window, and thats what I do. I slide out and shut the window as best as possible. I get back to my place of residence, and alert everybody that we're rich, but need to get out. I move, buy businesses and make billions, but one day realize that things seem a little weird. Feels like I'm being watched. Flashback to that day and I realize I've forgotten one little detail with my momentum in the moment. I left the safe wide open.

Story 3:
In this life, I get paid for the most ridiculous things. I get to try things of all kinds out, and get paid millions for it. Food, music, activities, its like I live an exotic vacation 24/7 365. Every month something new. New culture, new games, new places to visit, new everything. I essentially get to travel and live the most exotic, high-lives of every possible place. From Argentina to Zimbabwe, I get to experience it all. I never have to worry about a thing, and as a bonus get to retire any time, to any place I choose. Its sort of a retirement gift/fund that is given to me as a thank you for my work. Not conventional, but its something different. Fancy cars, fancy clothes, I get to experience everything and simply give feedback on it. People simply cant get a better life than this.

Immovable Object

I am an immovable object
my destiny is my own
those who conspire against it have another thing coming
business is business
and ones one success is their own
but none will stand in my path

This path of mine is a cleared crop field
with its clarity open like the parted red sea
I can indeed see my path for it is open to me
the future holds success with my strength
though my size may not be massive
I stand a height modest to athletes
yet shall dominate with the conspiring of the universe

My hard work is noticed by the supernatural
and is rewarded with an aggression that cannot be satisfied
a strange combination yet it is one that benefits me endlessly

I am a perfectionist whom has an obsessive disorder with winning
I cannot be stopped nor can I be displaced
my success and wealth will only be second
to my love for winning and my passion for growing

The spoils of the war that is the human condition
will only be sufficient if I am able to find serenity with my lust for power
it is amazing that I am on the parted path in which the light is so clear
it is amazing that the universe conspires for me
it is an immovable object

VisionBoard

This Vision Board directly relates to my life and my passions. It is what I want to be in life and my goals are summed up into it. I love sports, and I love technology. The beautiful thing is, I don't just love one sport or one field of technology, I love them all. There's just something that really makes me feel passionate when it comes to the two things. Technology is expressed by so many things. It can get productive yet dull when it comes to a manufacturing type of technology, yet on the other side of the spectrum can be the total opposite when it comes to video games. Sports on the other hand are just a series of athletic grace. There's something about the posture of athletes, the chip on their shoulder that they seem to carry. If you walk into a gym and see kids playing basketball, you can sort of weed out the talented vs the not so talented just based on how they look, how they act, the stance they take. Its a strange thing to dissect, but when it comes down to it, athletes have some sort of keep cool swagger about themselves. When it comes to the other images on the board, its pretty clear their purpose. They aren't necessarily referring to the gym, or getting in shape, but rather the overall hustle of life. I wish I could say money wasn't everything on this planet, but sadly, it is. I'm not saying I want to drop everything and love money only, but I do have a passion for it. Those quotes all fuel me on a daily basis. Each one I find and love I try to remember or bookmark to read when times get tough. Moreover, this whole board is just a sample of my passions. If I were to get into depth, it would take years to read this.

In my future I see power
whether in my bones or
from who I've devoured
sports, drive, hustle, money
I see clearly want I want from me
but it'll never just happen
laziness is hazy
and I'm never napping
technology is whats key
utilizing it shall set me free
my future self never seems satisfied
my success comes from amplified
desire
an athlete of all distinction
you can't end or bring upon my extinction
an entrepreneur of my passions
through these things I will gain satisfaction
moreover anything will be possible
not in a metaphorical sense no,
these things are optimal, adoptable
ah yes, my futures rich indeed
so my hard work is all ill ever need

Passion

I am definitely passionate about several things in life. Most of them, albeit, are for sports. I do love technology, and the amazing things we are able to fabricate and simulate with them, but there is something about sports that I cant get enough of. The grace that athletes at the top of their game have is unmatched. The posture that they achieve just causes them to stand out from the rest. Its like a chip on the shoulder sort of thing. They stand and move with such grace that it really translates to something more beautiful than anything I've ever known. From Football to Basketball and Football in Europe, sports have taken over the cultural world. If there was one thing I could do for the rest of my life it would be taking part in one or more of those sports, whether it was watching, analyzing, or even playing.

The sports industry has been ever-growing since it first came to life. It has never really stopped expanding, and probably never will. I could tie my love of sports to so many careers. From sports psychology to sports medicine and just flat out being an athlete, there are so many different careers in the field. When it comes to technology on the other hand, I could engineer it, invent it, manipulate it as a computer scientist. I could do so many things with both of these industries that its insane. The mere analyzing of both industries can result in hundreds of careers that are intriguing. They all can tie in to my interests and passions.

I'd love to serve a field of interest that deals with the helping of less fortunate people through my passion. While I don't know any through a technology field off the top of my head I'm sure there are plenty. On the other hand, I know that every sports league out there does charity work for those whom are less fortunate. The NFL alone contributes ridiculous amounts of money every year to those whom are hungry and less fortunate. I love those things. Coming from a fortunate life and family, I thankfully don't have to worry about those things. On the other hand however, I've witnessed people go through them, and understand that its definitely a massive struggle. Traveling to countries less fortunate than our own and seeing people struggle to live, let alone succeed is the definition of a struggle.

My Passion

Truth be told
I never knew that one day
I'd grow and love the game so
as a kid
I always wanted to be a superhero
I didn't think I would be so Intrigued
by what my father loved so much
on first sight all i saw
was grown men fighting
but on a second look
what I saw was much more beautiful
I began to play and practice the game
I watched so closely every Monday, Sunday and Thursday
I could simply not get enough
the tango was a never ending high
that still fills me with joy
from dynasty to dynasty
game to game
my life to theirs
it truly feels like I have a second love
one that is not tangible
one that can not be jealous
one that never feels remorse
I never knew that one day
it would be My Passion.

Looking back on The Alchemist

The plot and thesis of the book is definitely within the line Melchizedek says to Santiago when he states that "when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it". He is basically foreshadowing major events in the book without the reader even knowing it. Those events are quite literal too. Its quite funny how all of the things happen so interestingly. The events that unfold in terms of the storm and Santiago connecting with the sun, wind, soul of the world, they all quite literally relate to the thesis. Santiago along with the reader in the beginning of the book probably wrote off that little quote, maybe even thinking that Melchizedek was a completely random dude who was trying to bum something off him. Maybe not. Point is, the guy made one hell of a point.

When Santiago turned himself "into the wind", a whole lot really hit me. I guess I just found it to be so intriguing in terms of metaphoric value. Grant it, this is all just a book but when you look at the whole picture and whats going on, things are just crazy at this point. Santiago is learning to harness his ability to speak to the universe, hes understanding that his soul is connected to that of the world and God. Things are crazy. When it all boils down to it, he sort of figures it all out. He is what he wants to be. If he wants to be a merchant he shall be one through his will. If he wants to be a shepherd, if he wants to be rich, it will happen through his actions. If he wants to be an alchemist, or even the wind, it will happen through himself only. It relates to my experiences in real life because if I want to be successful, if I want to pursue a dream, its on one person: me.

I loved just about everything in the book. I can't say there were parts I did not enjoy. Every little bit was like a piece of lore that fit into place like a puzzle. I loved the magic, both the literal, and the metaphysical type. It made so much sense to me.To put it in the only way I can; I felt like I always looked at life in this way, it was just that I didn't know how to explain it. I always knew of these things that the book went into detail on, I just never knew how to point them out. I did feel like there could have been a lot more to the book. I love action, so of course I would've loved to have seen a little more, but it sufficed. I can say that the book could have elaborated more on Santiago's travels, not that they were very vague. It just felt like it hopped around in such a haste-ful way. Overall however, the book was great, and that's coming from a guy whom hates to read.

Yes. In fact, I already have. I recommended it to a friend of mine, Ben, for the fact that he loves to read and is very interested in the metaphysical philosophies of life. I know that might seem like a mouthful, but its true. The book can be one hell of a motivator, and with that really tells you a lot of things that you already know, but weren't too sure about. Not only is it interesting, but like I said, it gets to the truth about life. If you want something to happen to you, the only person that will make it happen is yourself. You can sit around wishing that you'll get money, become successful, do this or obtain that, but until you decide to get off the couch and make some moves you're going to be in the same position as you're in now. The only person that controls your fate is YOU. That is the type of friend I would recommend it to. The person who needs some sort of realization that success only comes to those who want it as badly as they want to breathe.

Alchemy

Its tough in a world where you wanna be
everything but the skies aren't always blue
but how can you be what you wanna be
if the only person pushing you is you
its time to realize that I equals me
I'm the only one that can push me through
nobody gives a damn about my pleas
successful and happy only are few
only I can raise me to a high degree
to my dreams and success I must stay true
only through success will I be pleased
its what I need to spread my views
who can see you if your the size of a flee
you'll need to realize that its up to you
happiness will never come for free
its all about doing what you do
happiness comes from within you see
so go out and be better, outdo
know that results reside in alchemy
and your dreams are something you will accrue
